Pforzheim's Brötzinger Bridge is in disarray due to traffic congestion following a roadblock.
The Brötzingen Bridge in Pforzheim, a crucial connection for the city's western region, is currently closed until September 13th for a necessary roadway renovation. This closure has caused quite a stir, with traffic being diverted via Habermehlstraße for those coming from Brötzingen, and Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße for those approaching from Büchenbronn and Rodgebiet.
Michael Dannwolf, a local resident, reported chaos on the roads since noon due to the traffic jam on Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße. Dannwolf, known for his characteristic Pforzheim grumble, surprisingly found the traffic jam beneficial, as it was causing the construction site on the Brötzingen Bridge. His companion, however, wished to remain unnamed in the newspaper.
A commuter from the Calw district expressed relief at not having to navigate through the traffic. Pedestrians and residents in the area, however, are growing weary of the traffic situation. A bus approached the traffic jam on KF, now reaching the bridge and the hill towards Büchenbronn, with a pedestrian managing to outrun it.
The continuous construction fence on the other side of the river in front of KF has stopped all attempts to drive on the closed bridge. A white SUV, in a desperate attempt, tried to drive on the closed Brötzingen Bridge, but was unsuccessful.
Traffic began to flow slowly behind the Benckiser Bridge, where cars intentionally parked on the second lane. People watching the drivers' desperation from the nearby Rewe parking lot found the scene amusing.
The responsible party for the road renovation at Fritz-Ungerer-Straße/Büchenbronner Straße, causing the traffic congestion, is the local municipal road construction department or the city of Pforzheim's public works office. By September 13th, it is expected that it will be faster to get into the city by bus than on foot.
Despite the inconvenience, it seems that the residents of Pforzheim are learning to adapt to the temporary traffic changes. By September 13th, the Brötzingen Bridge will reopen, and life in the city will return to normal.
